DCC relies on accurate, up-to-date information in order to communicate with you, plan events, make curriculum and programming decisions, and order supplies and merchandise. We also want to know about your big milestones and achievements—such as creative projects completed, awards won, scholarships attained, and positions pursued—so that we can continue to celebrate you and support you toward your goals!

Whether you’re a current student or alum, if you think our information may be out-of-date, please click here or visit https://ter.ps/dccinfo to send along more accurate details! Thank you for letting us follow along on your journey!

DCC is undertaking an ongoing effort to document the life of our program and our community. We could use your help!

Whether you've captured photos at an official DCC event, or in the course of your own casual community downtime, we hope you will share your photos with us! Please click here or visit https://ter.ps/dccphotos to access a form that will allow you to share your photos, provide photo details, and indicate usage/sharing consent.

Thank you for your generosity in this initiative!

Part of the joy of teaching such inspired, motivated, and talented students is that we get to witness so many of you move on to bigger and better things. On behalf of DCC staff, we are delighted and honored you've thought of us as potential recommenders for your applications—to professional positions, internships, graduate school, grant opportunities, award competitions, scholarship programs, and more.

At the same time, we also recognize that writing robust, detailed letters of recommendation require a tremendous amount of time and labor. In any given semester, our staff and faculty get many, many requests—sometimes with very little notice—that cause significant strain in our everyday working rhythms.

To help us help you, we ask that you submit a formal request.

Before submitting a request, please be prepared to tell us:

  • What kind of support you are seeking (a targeted recommendation tailored to a specific opportunity; a generic recommendation for a variety of uses; contact information for preliminary application screening; etc.)
  • What the required delivery method is (electronic or print)
  • What the position/opportunity entails
  • What makes you well-suited for the position/opportunity you are pursuing
  • What areas of skill & fit you are hoping your recommender can assess favorably/positively in a recommendation

You will also be asked to submit a current résumé or CV.

This information, especially when centrally organized in one electronic document, enables us to determine whether we are appropriate recommenders for you and, if so, to make the arrangements required to deliver the best possible recommendation we can for you.

Please note that all DCC staff require at least two business weeks' notice to address and/or fulfill requests.

Please additionally note:

  • Submitting a request does not guarantee a letter. In some cases, a staff or faculty member may not be able to provide the level of recommendation you are hoping for, based on their observations of your skills, strengths, and/or weaknesses; or, they might simply be unable to accommodate your request in their schedule.
  • If you submit a potential recommender's information (such as name, email address, telephone number, etc.) without their expressed approval, they may summarily reject your request. Always, always, always verify that a recommender is "on board" before you pass their information along to a potential employer, graduate school, or award-granting body.

We look forward to hopefully supporting you towards the future you envision for yourself. When you're ready, please click here or visit https://ter.ps/dccrecs to submit a formal request.

Students' senior year of high school is full of important milestones and challenges—and the expectation that students make lasting, life-altering decisions with little information is chief among them. We don't want you to stay in a living-learning program that doesn't work well for you, your needs, or your goals. The Honors College has therefore carefully crafted both Withdrawal and Transfer Policies that applies for all students, in all living-learning programs: students may process a formal withdrawal from DCC; students may transfer into DCC; or, students may transfer out of DCC and into another Honors living-learning program, based on availability.

How does the Transfer Policy work?

Students who matriculated into the Honors College beginning Fall 2020 and are in good standing with the Honors College may apply to transfer from their current Honors College living-learning program (LLP) to any other program within the Honors College. Students should note that LLP program space is limited; therefore, transfer approval is also based upon availability. Applications are available in the spring semester.

Visit the Honors College website for more information regarding Honors College academic policies or LLP transfer information.

Considering a withdrawal or transfer?

All DCC students who are considering a transfer or withdrawal from the program are required to discuss their decision with the DCC Director or Associate Director. Please visit the Support for Students page to access staff Appointment Calendars and reserve a meeting time.
