Better late than never! In honor of tomorrow's July Bake-Along (here on IG Live at noon Eastern time!), @jhlu is finally sharing the written version of her basic biscotti recipe from June. It can be dressed up in endless ways, so get ready to play with whatever mix-ins you heart desires—or, keep them plain to enjoy and dip with whatever hot drinks you prefer. 📸: Jessica's random experiment with fresh basil and dried cultivated blueberries. Unsalted butter, cold (6 tbsp.; or 85g)
White granulated sugar (⅔ cup; or 140g)
Table salt (½ tsp.)
Baking powder (1½ tsp.)

Like a lot of sophomores, corona put a major kink in my capstone project 😞 so I’ve been working on an alternative, covid-related project instead! For the Letters from Covid-19 project, I’m asking people to send in snail mail about any thoughts or experiences they’ve had since the pandemic started, for a community-sourced time capsule 🐌 💌 Now that finals are over, take a few minutes to reflect on what’s changed over the past two months and send one my way! Fun fact: right before this pandemic hit, I was very seriously considering doing a full year abroad. But since travel may realistically not be in the cards for the next year or so, I’m on a mission to travel the world in books! The rules aren’t hard or fast— I’m just trying to challenge myself to read more diverse authors and stories. Creativity comes in many forms and one of our ways of expressing our creativity is through food! Making pickles is fun because you can basically throw in everything AND the kitchen sink! Today we whipped up some delicious dill pickles and pickled carrots and onions to enjoy for the coming weeks!!

Hey everyone! Jackson (@hilldevadas) and Tyla (@itstylaa) here, and we’re going to be taking over the DCC Instagram! We are DCC alums, part of the Theta class. A little bit about us: Tyla is a junior chemical engineering major and Jackson is a junior biology major and statistics minor. We live in an apartment off campus with two other Theta class members (they went home for the semester ): we miss y’all) and we all loveee to cook (follow our cooking escapades @inthekitchen229). During this quarantine we’ve been doing a lot of cooking and baking, going on walks, and watching movies. Follow along with us for the next 2 days to see what we’ve been up to!

Helloooo lovely people! My name is Ines Donfack! Today I’m taking over the dcc account and I’m very very pumped about it! I’ll show you what my time in quarantine looks like ( hint it’s a lot of me just laying in bed watching Love is blind) ! Follow along on the insta stories as I take you through my day. A little about me : I’m a kappa student majoring in computer science. I’m trilingual, I love to eat ( especially burritos, tamales and all foods commonly found at a child’s birthday party) and I love to exercise, run, and do handstands. To start things off I have a fun would you rather : would u rather only be able to eat the last meal you had at umd before the quarantine or only be able to speak to the last person you spoke to at umd before the quarantine?
